View Full Version : SR20 Can I delete this, E85 conversion

So im about finished converting to e85, what i want to know is can i delete this canister? and what important things need to be done after removing it?

Also I know its important to recirc your pcv for e85 vapors. Can i run it like this ?

the other side of the "T" goes into the hot pipe near the turbo.

Yea you can delete that and just run a straight line. But from the other side of the T put a catch can in between the T and your intake

sounds good boss, need to cap anything on that canister?

Jut remove the canister and you can toss it if you want. Run a line from the pcv to the block fitting where the canister was connected

Run lower block to T, T to catch can, catchcan to turbo inlet, im to pcv valve or be prepared for a potential fire.

On my new setup im going to run from the T to a exhaust venturi after the wideband with no can to ever worry about. Best bet is to use a braided line in your case because soft rubber ones can collaps when hot under vaccume

yea i heard about being able to route the pcv there to direct the blowby to the exhaust cause it draws a vacuum. is that what your doing 4x4?

That is what im doing on the new setup.. here is it on my old old setup

IN both of those setups its routed to the intake. On my next setup the rear hose will be routed to the exhaust.
That is a blue 808 valve cover btw

How do you have your fittings connected to the cover. I'm trying to figure out what to do since the pcv just pushes in and doesn't have threads

How am I the only one wondering why you're asking such a question in consideration to an E85 setup? Do you understand crank ventilation at all? If not, address that before attempting a fuel system change.

It's important to keep the crank under negative pressure so the passing fuel vapor has incentive to go somewhere. If you're getting excessive blow by by any stretch then creatively routing this negative pressure won't save you. Just prolongs the inevitable.

And yes, I did kinda wonder the same thing, but I just figured maybe he was playin it safe than sorry since he was making sure it was ok for an e85 setup. I try my best to scare the shit out of people to properly setup their pcv system when going to e85 because the fire hazard is real. And it needs to be setup right anyways but fireballs are not cool.

this is why i double check, to make sure its right. no harm in asking if its a legit question, especially sincei dont want my car burning down.
