Breaking up and running rich

S14 with OBDII KA. I replaced the cap and rotor yesterday afternoon and drove the car for a bit, everything was fine. I went to my daughter's doctor appointment this morning and noticed that it was breaking up mid trip. On the way home, I noticed it would break up around 3000 and not rev above 3400 RPM. After continued driving to get home, it started to break up around 2000 to 3400, where it wouldn't rev past again. Replaced the cap and rotor with the original and thought the problem went away, a minute up the road, it sure didn't.

Lost on this. Any ideas?

Does it break up at idle?

Every few seconds I hear a hiccup, but that's it. I tried disconnecting the MAF to see if it made a difference, which it did (lower idle).

Traced this back to my plug wires. Problem was resolved by replacing them. Odd.
