View Full Version : Bad compression/white smoke

So ive had this s13 for about 3 months now just did a compression test yesterday and all 4 cylinders read 120,then i poured a bit of oil into the cylinder and it read 150,also when i rev it hard lots of white smoke comes out.....any ideas on what it could be?

You have bad piston rings

blown headgasket causes white smoke, bad piston rings causes blue smoke

That's true but a cracked head gasket most likely wouldnt cause bad comp in all cylinders. And the comp wouldn't go up by pouring oil in it.

i thought smoke was just black or white i didnt know it came out blue ill check again

took a closer look at it and it was blue smoke.....dam not good....well thanks anyways guys

Bad rings. Just rebuild it and you'll have a solid motor.

im gonna be honest i dont know much about SRs what are some disadvantages besides the fact you cant get parts at a local parts store like what are some things i should look out for?

There are actually quite a few sr replacement parts that cross with some of the usdm nissans. If u search you can find a list. I've had no problems with my current sr. I fried the rings on my first one but I made the mistake of buying with a lot of drift miles already on it. Don't do that. Check out jdmmotorcorps.com . This were my sponsor ordered mine.
