Hey guys, just finished putting a s14 ka in my 89 240sx. Cars starts and idles like a dream, but it seems like i cant rev it past say, 4/4.5k and after revs if drops very low, sometime 100-200 rpm, then catches back up and goes to idle.
Possible timing issue? TPS adjustment?

posted in his. change fuel pump and filter. same issue i had, ran fine when not full throttle. and would rev past without full throttle. but otherwise sounded like a limiter going off.

maf sensor will give u that issue and aic will cause rev to drop low then settle where it needs to be

fuel pump is a walBRO and fuel filters brand new, i tried spraying some cleaner in iacv line and it did seem to make a difference so after work im going to tear that apart and give em a good clean. The maf is a replacement that i know is working, had a different maf and it wouldn't run for more then 5 seconds, installed this one and now the car will stay running, it just drops more and more.

if you have stock fpr you will be running rich with that walbro. Check your plugs and see what shape they are in.

So after much work, it seems like the timing with off with distributor, after a quick adjustment to that, car idled consistently and now revs no problem. No sturrering or hiccups at all. 1 Thing though, After a hard rev the rev will go to about 400 to maybe 600, then back to 700/750 after a second or so. Whats would cause that drop in idle? TPS not communicating correctly with ecu?
