The black w/yellow stripe wire from the ignition. It always pops off, find it and secure it onto the prong on the starter.

would anyone happen to have a lay out or diagram of where all the start relays are located? i looked at the FSM one and im not an expert on how to read the FSM diagram.

Are you going to take my advice or continue to search for these imaginary starter relays?

not sure what your talking about. i looked for a black w/ yellow wire that connects to the starter. there is none. maybe cause my SR is a s14?

There should be two things wired to your starter. The first one is easy, its the thick positive cable from the battery which you have already stated you have connected. The other wire comes from your ignition switch and plugs into a prong on the starter. On the S13 its a black wire w/yellow stripe, not sure on S14's. Maybe you hooked up the prong to a ground wire instead. It needs to come from the ignition switch, look around for a wire (around your starter) with a single plug just hanging there.

How else would the starter know when to start your car?

I know you got this sorted but a lot of people forget to ground the engine. The starter will not operate without a properly grounded motor. The more the better guys; it's amazing what the difference is.

This might help others later.
