HELP!!! Weird tick when engine not on?????

Hello, i have a fully built SR20det. head is fully built as well. when i spin the motor over by hand and stop. i hear a ticking/creaking almost for a long period of time...idk what this is. or if its normal...? Please help.

can you tell if its from the head or block...front or back?

i hear it most with the valve cover off. i have noticed that the crank moved a little bit once all the creaking was done. could this just be the motor slowly..."Going to rest"?

what do you mean "the crank moved"...does it have play?

no, like i had it on TDC. then after all the creaking was done it has rotated a little bit.

hmmm...is it tough to rotate the crank? and does it make the sound the whole time you are rotating the crank? does it stop making the sound when you stop rotating the crank?

lol, i cant take a video of it. i took the cam out. it needed to be polished. but it only makes the sound when i am NOT rotating it. and it only makes the sound RIGHT after i rotate the engine by hand and when i shut it off after running. sounds to me like the engine is "Settling" per say
