Ok so I got back into working on the car last night...Built sr20 (only about 20 miles on it if that) , Precision 50 trim, PB topmount, 272 cams, Ls2 coilpacks.. etc etc....I have been having a horrible time getting the idle to drop below 1K .
I redid all of my vacuum lines. No boost leaks.
FPR and BOV share small line on top of TB
Gauge, Profec B (gen 1), and Side EWG port share large line on top of TB
Check the TPS again… .45 closed 4.12 WOT
Checked IACV (black white wire on my harness) has 12V
CAS is stabbed correctly...every check you can do on the cam timing is correct.
Plugs gapped correctly, FPR is at 38 with no vaccuum,
Enthalpy tuned ECU. (emailed Martin already but waiting for his response)
I started by letting it warm up. Idled about 1100. Unplugged TPS and it still idled at 1K even with the IACV plugged in. So I unplugged the IACV and it stalled right out and would not start up until I opened the screw all the way. So doing some research I started to adjust the TB stop (small screw in front of cable) and the IACV until the car would idle using just the TB and got it down to 700. I then adjusted the IACV (still unplugged) and got it to idle about 850. So I revved it to 3k three times hoping to lock the timing to check it. The first coil pack does not output a steady flash on the gun at all. Its very intermittent. Every other coil pack shows a steady signal (not trying to time it with 2-4 just looking at the signal). So the timing using the #1 pack was still hopping between 1 and 3 (from right) on the pulley. So I didn’t even attempt to adjust the timing as its still jumping on #1 coil pack. When I tried adjusting the CAS before it would still jump around on #1 regardless of where it was.
So I plugged the iacv back in and the idles jumped WAY up and I had to undo all the adjustments on the TB screw to get it back to a steady ~1K idle. Plugged the TPS back in and same steady 1K idle. And I can raise the idle by adjusting the IACV out, but if I close it all the way down nothing changes. I can get it to adjust down to a correct idle with the IACV and TPS unplugged but the #1 coil pack puts out a shitty signal and the timing jumping….
I’m thinking its ignition related and my next step will be to swap the coil packs around to see if anything changes but I'm really thinking the CAS is shot.
Thoughts?
