I just picked up my first RB and i was wondering what are some on the necessary parts i should get for it to keep the motor running strong while its taking a beating when being drifted on. Also what are some good bolt on parts for it to get alittle more hp out of it. thanks for the help

as long you keep up with maintenance, no matter what parts you throw on, motor will run strong.. take care of it, and it will take care of you..

Open the exhaust. Cxracing makes/made a 2 2.5 inch down pipe that really increases power along a 3 inch straight exhaust. I also had a fmic too.

upgrade the fuel pump asap.
300zx fuel filter is a cheap and easy upgrade too.

walbro is fine.
z32 fuel filter is like $15 and way bigger than 240

If your going to run a bigger FP you will need a FPR and gauge also, a 255 on the stock is too much and the car will run pig rich and have bogging issues.

On my RB20 im running basic upgrades but the car runs solid and makes good reliable power.
-FMIC
-3" DP
-3" exhaust with muffler
-stock 10 psi
-wasted spark coil pack set up
-Competion Clutch's stage 4 clutch ( clutch kick for days and no issues)

And that's it, super basic but reliable and has no problem spinning 235/45/17's with my welded diff and I do alot of events.

Not true at all.

I would recommend a 255 pump in ANY 240sx, period.

No bogging, no pig rich, none of that. That's what factory fuel pressure regulators and o2 sensors are for, guy.

Do you have a RB20? I do and when I was running a 255 it ran rich and bogged, put a 300zx TT fuel pump in and it ran ALOT better and barley bogs on tip in, with a stock pump car ran perfect and no bogging... Afr's were a bit on the lean side in the upper rpm's so I switched the 300zx pump back in and installed a fpr and now the car runs fine again.

This is not the only time I've seen this either. Also factory fuel pressures are designed for factory pressures NOT the increased pressure from a much larger fuel pump, and 2 O2's... Rb20's only run 1 O2 chief

I just put a walbro 255 in my s13/rb20 about a month and a half ago. Car runs WAY better. Probably runs a little more rich than it needs to, but I always heard rbs run a little rich off the assembly line. I dont care though bc a tune will be in order soon :)

basic bolt on upgrades like exhaust and a front mount , add a boost controller , run no more then 14psi and you'll be laughing. keep your eyes peeled for a rb25 turbo if you want.
keep up with maintenance and keep your maf clean. also run NGK BKR7E spark plugs if you wanna run high boost.

if you want to drift, the stock motor has plenty of power, just make sure you get a good diff or go the cheap way out and weld the one you have

Tomei Techni Trax FTW!!
