Hello
So I have heard from some great sources that the weak point in the SR20DET is in the head - more specifically being the weight of the 7mm sodium filled exhaust valves.
Apparantly, with the 7mm to 6mm conversion, you would reduce the weight of the valve train and allow the head more longevity. However, you would loose the sodium filled valves, which maintain a lower temperature than stainless steel valves.
So, instead of going with the valve conversion, titanium retainers can be use to lighten the valve train.
Has anybody had any experience with running the titanium retainers VS the 6mm conversion? Any differences in function, performance, and longevity?
Thanks
