so i got a 93 ka24de and gonna swap in a 95 ka24de both obd1 i belive but the 95 was an auto. came with no harness. but i do have my 93 harness. on the 95 ka. the intec manifold is missing alot of egr and evap stuff and also some vacum lines are weird looking. compare to my 93 ka. it has all these egr evap stuff. so confusing?? any ideas??:aw:

I kid you not, I am currently going through the same process. Im swapping an obd 1 95 ka into my 90 240sx. its already converted to dohc, as I was running a 91 ka and spun a bearing. From what I have gathered, both the intake and exhaust manifold have to be swapped from our previous motors. Neither is compatible. The intake has different sensors and the exhaust does not line up or something like that. Then the dizzy has to be swapped as well because the 95 ka has an extra sensor. then swap the flywheel, clutch, and tranny. From there it should all bolt up pretty easy, exactly how it came out. Oh, and you would be using the harness from the previous motor.

i switch everything else over except the intec manifold and plug everything up and it fire right up. no CEL and missing some evap stuff. idles at 750 perfectly and open headers too. LMAO. now i need to do is try to smog it and see what happens. lol

my shit is idleing between like 1500 rpm to 2000rpm. and my over bottle is bubbling like crazy. my temp gauge is staying hella low. any ideas.

I'm doing my swap tomorrow, so I'll see how mine turns out. I'm pretty sure the whole intake has to be swapped. There's some different sensors, maybe that's what has you idling weird.

IM SUCH A DUMBASS!! thortle cable was really tight and my temp sensor dick plug was broken. idles fine now. 750 rpm. temp gauge stays right in the middle. yeeeeeeeeeeee.
so. this means. you dont have to switch over anything but the following things.
ALTERNATOR
DISTRIBUTER
maybe AC PUMP
also for the exhaust manifold. i just welded a whole stright pipe with muffler tip from the exhaust manifold.
im not throwing a CEL either. yeeee

different plug up to the s13 harness. one of the plugs dont fit on too the alternator. im trying to do my ac with the s14 ac compressor for right now. but yup. everything else is in GOOD CONDITION. no CEL. idle steady. and good luck. let me know if you need some input...

yepp I started it up and it idled really nice. it wasn't as complicated as I though.
For the record and those who search this post in the future I used a obd 1 95 ka to put into my car and swapped parts from a 91 ka. its not specific to the 91 but an s13 ka24de motor is good for the parts. I used the whole intake manifold, everything that was attached to it including throttle body, vacuum lines, etc. and the exhaust manifold was swapped as well. After that all you do is swap the dizzy and that's it. plug and play. I guess there's other ways to do the swap where you don't have to do what i did, but all I know is what I did works.

The exhaust was to be kept because of the different style exhausts. Not that it won't line up. If you have a complete 95 exhaust, you can run it in the 90/93 as long as you have the rear section for that specific car. That's the least of your worries though.
You must swap the dizzy, unless you change the wiring for the internal ignitor that is on the S14 motors.
Glad you guys got them running good.

does the 95 ac compressor have only 1 electric plug connecter?

i gutted all the ac stuff so at the moment i know nothing about the ac. I do have one plug disconnected in that area from my harness....
