You guys try Insanity yet? It's from Beach Body the makers of P90X and man it's tough! My wife and I are on week 5 and it's producing the results big time. The workouts are super tough, all cardio and mostly based on the squat movement plus plenty of other Plyo movements.

We've both done P90X in the past and loved it too and this one is just as tough!

This shit doesn't play, ive thrown up 3-4 times doing this. It's INSANE. beats P90x, if you want results, try this for just 1 week and you will notice them. Worth downloading for sure. Just takes some dedication to it.

i did it for about a month last year. its no walk in the park, be prepared to sweat more sweat than you though possible and to be pretty much physically exhausted every time you do it. i will say that while i was doing the program i felt like i had more energy through out the day

My brother's been doing it and after 2 weeks he was getting that V-cut shape. But i've done p90x and insanity walks all over it in terms of cardio.

Ya been doing all of them(P90X, Insanity, BeachBody) for free at the Boys&Girls club for a month now, it's cool too, it's for a good cause, donate to use the facility.

so with this program, are there any equipment requirements like p90x or is it all cardio?

Ya it's a great and super challenging program, tomorrow ends week 5 for the wife and me. Week 5 is called the "recovery week" hahahah, ya freaking right! Their idea of recovery is 6 straight days of 35 minute cardio/plyo sessions leaving me with sweat dripping off my finger tips. My 7 yr old said "Daddy, it looks like you just got out of the shower!"

I'll say this about P90X vs. Insanity - I never needed a head band to absorb all the sweat for P90X, I do for Insanity. It's just....more. I can't wait to see how I look in 4 more weeks! I'll definitely post some pics when it's all said and done.

No equipment necessary too which is great for some people especially people in apartments or with no extra cash to spend on stuff. I do use push up bars but that's just because of a right wrist tendon problem but Sarah doesn't use anything at all.

Since you mentioned apartments, is there a lot of high impact jumping? Just wondering if I would annoy people downstairs. Also would I need a lot of space?

id say you definitely need a good amount of space, for the shuffling drill you need at least three lateral steps to your left and right from the middle of the room, if i recall correctly. i would also say that there is a good amount of jumping involved as well, especially on plyo days, might not be the greatest program if you live on the 3rd floor =p. just my two cents, like i said before its been awhile since ive dont it so take my advice with a grain of salt !

"bigger" out of shape people should probably not do this, start with P90x first then go to this. Insanity makes P90x look like a warm up.

depending on how "big" you are. You should take it easy on workouts like this. Even P90X, you can hurt your self with some over their routines.

Im 280 and starting P90X soon as i atleast drop 15 or so from diet and just walking everyday. Diet play a big part on P90X. So if you improve that before you even start, your in good track. Same with Insanity.

Insanity is hellweek compare to P90X. make it seems like a walk in the park.

Agreed, if you're quit a bit over weight or haven't been at all physically active in a long time you should consider starting out by just cleaning up your diet and maybe jogging or running for a few weeks-few months to get your body used to some impact.

Week 6, the beginning of the second half of the program actually surprised the wife and me, it's actually.......Way Harder!!! No kidding, we thought the first half was rough but this is a whole notch above that, longer workouts, longer sets, less breaks.

I've got a lot of respect for anyone who's been through the full 9 weeks of this without skipping, I really think we'll be in the top 1% of people anywhere in terms of physical fitness after this. And Sarah already said she's going to do another round as soon as we finish!

Finished up Insanity round 1, here's my after pic, no "before" pics unfortunately but I lost a few pounds of fat and got my cardio conditioning up to a truly insane level! My wife is starting it all over, round 2, yay for a wife that likes to work out :)

Now me and a friend are hitting the weights hard for a few weeks/months in an attempt to put on a few pounds of muscle, mostly in the legs and back. I noticed yesterday I've got veins across my shoulders when lifting again, something I haven't had since P90X a couple years ago so I know my BF% is now solidly below 10% again which is where I want to keep it.

Viva ongoing personal development!

the only downfall with these programs is that most of the people doing them dont have the discipline or drive to finish them.
To all of you who are on track, Props!

Around 45 minutes or so.

Insanity is much more effective than P90X, IMO
Of course that is really dependant on how involved you are in the workout. If you cheesedick the exercises, then you are most likely not going to feel it, and think it's pretty dumb.

Just starting week 4. Not following the diet, as I was already eating a healty diet that has worked for me, and have lost about 6 lbs and kept it off. Shit is still tuff as hell and getting up at 445am to do it doent help either. Kinda anxious on what the second half is all about as its supposed to be herra harder.
