What do you mean by didnt wire it up? You talkin about the reverse sensor thats on the s13 tranny? When I bought my S13 my reverse light didnt work, I check all the wiring going to the light and didnt find anything wrong, I later dropped the tranny to change the clutch and found 3 of the 4 transmission sensors were cut, one of them was the reverse light sensor, I got a new one from the dealer, plugged it in and it started working.
Hope this helps.
Here is a pic of where the sensors are located.

was your car a s13 or s14?
mines is s14 with s13 trans. so do i just tap the negative and positive wires to the reverse light sensor under the engine bay?

Mine is a S13, the way it works is that all 4 sensors on the transmission plug into a lower harness that runs below the engine and along the transmission, I don't know how it is setup on a S14, but I would expect a similar setup.
