I was doing some doughnuts , after I was done I drove for about 2mil and. My engine started to knock really loud I pulled over right away I checked the oil it was good , I think its rod knock , since I've done some research on YouTube and I've seen some Sr20det with the same sound but still not sure , if it is do I have to replace the block or can I rebuild it ?

this is going to get interesting quickly.

you can rebuild it.
id suggest having a machine shop do it though.
if youre not sure if you can rebuild or not i wouldnt let you near an opened engine.

Yea I don't plan on doing the rebuild my self , I just don't know the extend of damage that it might of caused I've heard of people taking the oil pan off and fixing it from the bottom if its not to bad ,but its knot recommended . It for sure needs to be rebuilt I got the engine with about 80,000 mil

if you got rod knock, yo shits fucked up and probably needs a new crank depending on how long you drove it knocking

Oh you mean I should've stopped driving it?

well if he kept it in the high RPM's while its knocking you might have been able to save it.

When I heard the knock I drove for about a mile before it really got loud then I pulled over quick and parked it , and had it towed home so you think ill need a new crank what about the block

Do you happen to know what the average price for a rebuild runs

For a no-frills rebuild probably a grand at least. (They'll mark up parts, and labor is expensive) But it also depends on how fucked up your engine is/if at all.

You prob scored the walls. Your brave for driving a mile let alone a few hundred feet.

Probably from fucking bouncing off the redline like a mad-man? You guys realize that you are installing used engines that have been beat to living hell in Japan before it got to you right? Considering that all the engines left are the engines that nobody wanted 5-6 yrs ago...those are the kind of engines flooding the US market now.

Luckily mine was bought 5 years ago lmao, but yeah dude you prob easily scored the walls from driving with a rod knock regardless of how far u drove. I have to ask why were you doing donuts and bouncing off the rev limiter and such that's just asking for trouble from a used 60K 20yr old engine

yea/

no one revs SR's to redline EVER! must be it.

hate on hater.

also toss that motor on a stand buy a used set up for 1500 n swap out block...then rebuild spare motor. learn to do work.
