When I was about to install my cams, I noticed that one of the journals lobes has a deep scratch on it. Now I'm not sure if I can use this or if I have to replace it with a new one. Below are a few pics of what the scratch looks like. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You can feel a slight burr and groove. I'm thinking about taking it to the machine shop and them polish it.

if your finger nail can catch it then just take some fine sand paper and wet sand it and you will be okay! I have 3 sr motors and they are all BC Cam...not the question is if what size cames those are? If they are the tomei stage 3 then you will need to change to solid lifters which has its pro's and con's

Fine sand paper. Can I use 1500 grit sandpaper used for body work?
They are Tomei 270 cams. They solid pivot conversion has been done by mazworx. Thats how the damage got there, shipping.

Yes 1500 is fine. The finer the better. Just be sure you wet sand it. If you just grab some paper and start going at it then your going to give your self problems. Be sure to sand it the way that it's been machined. But that should be obvious.

It honestly doesn't look bad at all.
Very minimal scratch, I wouldn't loose any sleep over that.
