My girl has a 1989 Bmw 325i and it is completely stock. Just recently it died at idle and could not turn back on. The engine would still turn but it would not fire up. After being towed about three hours later the car turned back on and drove fine once again. Before all this it ran completely fine without a problem and the problem just happened out of the blue.
If anyone Knows or thinks what the problem can be please lmk
thanks.

You realize this is a Nissan Forum right? Little to no ppl will know shit about older BMW's.
Try the BMW forums, i have a feeling you will have better luck on there.......

wow yet another useless post by you.
theres only been one E30 that Ive seen on here and that dude dropped an RB26 in it.
Majority of 240 owners on here barely have enough money to own and mod their cars as it is, so someone owning a BMW as well on here is gonna be slim
go get the codes pulled (if applicable) or check the fuel pump

Give the man a cookie! He offered some help to a topic at hand.
I'm just being a thorn in your side today because If you make a pattern of coming across as an ass in every thread where someone is asking for help.. (atleast this is the 2nd I've read this morning.. -edit- touch'e on that other thread btw! :D)... then its safe to say you are either grumpy today... or you are a full time ass. Mowgli looks like he picked up on that, and created his response. I've seen more helpful responses out of you. I could just write you were being an ass, I was simply giving you benefit of the doubt, and trying to be light hearted about the situation by making a joke.
Getting back to the OP (since I think your balls are chaffed enough already)... does your car currently exhibit any concerns?

Im only an ass when kids post retarded threads or remedial threads that have been covered for the past 10 years and easily found by either google or searching here, its a waste of bandwidth. As well as smart ass kids that try to be funny to rack up their post count.
Keeps them from being lazy and thinking were gonna spoon feed them
Why dont you check out my post record and find out just how helpful I really am to this site, Especially the thread labeled "Project RB" which is pretty much a step by step on installing an RB25 into a S14, I think I got more posts of helpful information in that thread then all of your posts combined.
This is Zilvia guy, if you cant handle getting your feelings hurt then leave, you should know that by now since you've supposedly been here for 6 years.
Do research and try troubleshooting before you post, (not to mention on the correct forum)
Not: hey guys my car shut off while driving what happend?
Like we know the history of the car!
if you dont know what to check then you shouldn't work on any car, take it to a real mechanic.

Hey, my feelings arent hurt.
I'm not the one rubbing my sore vagina here. ;D
Yes, I have been here for the better part of 6 years. YOU should know by now that (after being here for 5 years) that people will not always post about the car you have a relavent interest in. The guy (albiet, we both can agree a nissan forum may not be the best authority on a BMW concern) just wanted to get input.
I'm fully aware of your post record, and I'm sure its safe to say that not all 3,976 of your posts are helpful. Talking about racking up useless post counts? Post count =/= helpfulness. Actually taking the time to either a) answer a person's question, or b) direct them to a good resource is. Responding "ZOMGIH8UGUYSFORNOTUSINGGOOGLEBTWIGETANOTHERPOSTFOR THISUSELESSRANT" only serves the purpose of you trying to wave your peen all over the place.
That being said, ... (and you took the time to read my post, you would see I gave you credit where it was due) I've seen you actually be helpful.. but if you are going to act like a prick, you should be well prepared to get a little lash back.
To quote someone with (currently) 3976 posts (yknow, for credibility right?)... "This is Zilvia guy, if you cant handle getting your feelings hurt then leave"

Well hey I own both BMWs and 240s because of drifting capabilities.
Pull of the distributor cap and check the rotor button. Make sure its not fried or has jumped a little bit over. They are notorious for doing this. If you take a picture of the rotor button I'd be glad to throw in some imput

well im not going to start a brand new account for a BMW forum wen i do not own a BMW myself, its my girl's car and i just wanted to see if anyone knew what the problem could be.
We have taken it to the mechanic and they could not find anything wrong with it. It just dies out of the blue at random times even though the car has been well taken care off and mantanience up to date.

Intermittant issues can really be a pain in the dick. Without having a symptom to diagnose, or a way to log issues... you are really going to have to wait until the symptoms return for you to diagnose them

^^+1 without a consistant fault you are just gonna get fustrated. This is something that you are just gonna have to wait it out to see if it comes back and/or gets worse.
