basically i was swapping the motors in my car (ka24de) and i decided to upgrade the clutch. i bought a white bunny setup from someone on ka-t.org. they said they ran it for a short time but then also up graded.

what i was told:
flywheel from some truck
300zx clutch
break off the little alignment nipple for the flywheel on the crank.

i did this and it seemed fine. i installed the engine etc when to start it and it wont turn over. tried different things for a week or two until i just pulled the motor out tonight to see what the deal is.

when the flywheel is off, the motor spins freely. when i tighten the flywheel bolts, the motor locks up. Whats the deal? does the flywheel need machined or something to fit?

After breaking off the little alignment thingy, mine went right in with no issue and has started every time since as far as the clutch/flywheel is concerned - meaning a couple of batteries and a starter have been my only issues since.

Define "flywheel from some truck," though... I used the D21 Pickup flywheel, 93 to be exact.

yeah d21 flywheel.

i called the guy i bought it from, he said i may need to grind off part of the dust cover that is raised. i will try that tomorrow

You need to hammer down the dust shield under the rear main seal.

If the truck flywheel is thick, it will interfere. My custom WB SPL flywheel (aluminum), I had to hammer down the dust shield to clear the bolts holding the friction plate.

That's the first caveat of running WB SPL... Running WB SPL since day 1...

i had to slowly crank the bolts down while i cranked the motor. and it rubbed off whatever was rubbing and works good now.
