Piecing together a setup on a friends car and have some questions about an the oil drain flange/setup. We don't have the stock oil return flange.

The Nissan oil drain tube is pretty expensive for such a small piece - $45
Nissan S14/S15 T28 SR20DET Oil Drain Return Tube (Turbo to Block) (http://www.frsport.com/Nissan-S14-S15-T28-SR20DET-Oil-Drain-Return-Tube--Turbo-to-Block-_p_3104.html)

Would this setup work instead?

I also saw this fitting, but don't think it's as good as the one above. Any comments or suggestions?

For any other noobs like myself, here's a great video showing how the fitting works:

The oem one is worth it. If you shop around you can find it cheaper usually. I used the AN fitting setup and I'm just not as happy with it and switched back to OEM, it lines up better

A/N mostly for looks in this case. There is no pressure going through this line. Only a gravity drain. You can use a T25 flange pipe if you have one. Slot the holes and Buy some hose from vato zone.

this is the same price as the fr sport link but you get the hose as well

hit up Russell at nissanparts.cc
NissanParts.cc - Your #1 Source for OEM Parts and Accessories (http://www.nissanparts.cc/catalog/?section=1067)
$24.61+shipping on the T28 drain tube.

I went through the hassle of reslotting and bending the one off my t25 as well but I still had issues with the hose rubbing on the steering column.

Thanks guys, I'll go with the OEM tube. It wasn't that the piece cost too much. I was under the assumption that I could go with an A/N setup for the same cost, but it's actually worse than OEM for this use.

Definitely go with the oem piece. I tried using a flange/barb fitting before and I was never quite happy with it.
