Recently my stock twin cam crapped out, so I picked up a $150 replacement locally and rebuilt it over the last couple weeks.

Tomorrow I'm dropping it in and hooking it back up, but (of course) I'm nervous about the whole thing.

If someone could just provide me with a checklist of things to run through to make sure everything goes as perfectly smooth as possible, I'd really appreciate it. This is my first time ever doing something of this magnitude, so any and all help would be appreciated, whether its what to do or what not to do.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I know I need to re-prime the fuel, and someone told me I should use a special oil for break in. Anybody know what would be a good viscosity for that?

Have you manually turned the crank and everything is good? Just bleed coolant, prime system, bleed clutch. hook everything up, everything important i would put di-electric grease on.

I was told by a shop to basically crank the motor without the plugs in it first so you can essentially prime up the oil system for the first time. I was told that first crank the oil light is going to turn on so continue cranking for like 2-3 min so the strainer can get going and lubricate the system and the light will turn off. After that plug in the plugs and start the bad boy up!

^^^^ do not crank your car for 2-3 minutes, your starter will fry and your battery will die before then. Crank it by hand to feel if everything is good then crank for a few seconds with the plugs off. It only takes seconds to prime the oil system
