I'm getting ready to pull my SR to swap into a cleaner shell, but while it's out I'm going to replace a few parts. It's a redtop SR20. Not sure of the mileage, I bought the car swapped already.
I'm looking for recommendations on what to replace while the motor is out of the car.
I've already picked up the following:
All new OEM gasket set
Timing chain kit
S14 Oil pickup
Fuel Filter
Oil Filter relocation kit
Spark Plugs
Rocker Arm Stoppers
Stainless turbo lines
S14 Water neck
ARP Headstuds
New Wiring Specialties Harness (old one is one of the first and was for auto to manual conversion. New shell is already a manual.)
Anything else I need or should think about replacing while the motor is out?

I'm going to use the heater hoses that are on my current s13 where the SR sits now. They were replaced during the first swap (1 1/2 years ago) and look to be in great condition still.

Clean it up good and check for any small leaks that will dirty up your engine bay. Maybe look into a new headgasket (aftermarket?) if you plan on putting some good boost through it your already changing the headstuds so might as well. Install a/c? :p

Got a stock head gasket with my oem kit...and like 2 gallons of degreaser :D Picked up some high temp paint tonight to do the block after I clean it same for the turbo. my valve cover is almost perfect, so I'm going to leave it alone for now. I did pick up a A/C compressor and bracket. I drove it this past summer with no A/C and said F that....not this year! Wondering if I need to do a water pump and or oil pump...Thoughts?

If you never had overheating or low oil pressure problems don't worry about it. You cold always pull them and check them to spec. Although a new water pump is like $20 I believe.

i would do the water and oil pumps. Also, I would spend the money to get a metal head gasket and get the head and block machined. It's well worth it.

UGGGHHH sounds like you may as well do a complete rebuild, since you have the full gasket set & head studs. Buy bearings ,rings & do all basic machine work. As for the head the gasket kit come with valve stem seals, correct??? May as well use it,so a valve job & surface done
