06 350z tranny question

How much noise do the factory trannies make? I drove one that seems to chatter through all the gears especially under throttle and you can hear a little noise when its sitting idling. I'm thinking it the input shaft bearing but not 100%. Any info could help. It also seemed hard to shift but that could be due to the aftermarket clutchand possibly a short shifter.

Factory trannies are noisy. They are notorious for throw out bearings being loud. When the clutch is in vs out is it louder? If so, its normal. Short shifters will make some noise too, as will light flywheels.

The best fluid for these is a mix of Redline MTL and MT90. Get 2 qts of each and mix 50/50. That will quiet it down some.
