I love VG's, but it's time for some change.. I got a sweet deal on it, and now that I'm not gonna have A/C and all that, so I'll be more inclined to make my Z the race car, lol.

So far I have:

-1JZ-GTE
-R154
-Single Turbo Manifold
-Complete Toyota OEM Gasket Kit
-New Timing Belt, hydraulic tensioner, and tensioner pulley
-New 2JZ Water Pump
-ARP Head Studs
-ARP Flywheel Bolts
-HKS F-Con V Pro
-SS Oil Drain with Earls AN fittings (Needs to be extended)
-550's from a Supra

On Order:
-Action Clutch with OEM Pressure Plate
-New OEM Slave Cylinder
-Rest of the lines needed for single turbo
-New Serpentine Belt w/o A/C
-Driftmotion Pulley set
-Heat Shielding Gasket 1JZ

Gonna order some more stuff soon, just doing some research. Right now it looks like I'm gonna go with a Precision 62/62. I'm gonna do some sweet custom stuff with the intercooler and radiator setup hopefully. I'm REALLLY trying to make it to PBIR for the March 11th, so this build should move quick, I'll keep y'all updated for sure! HELP ME FINISH BY BUYING MY OLD VG STUFF!!!

So I did some work last night, started by installing the new timing belt tensioner.

Then the set the timing and installed the new idler pulley and timing belt.

I'm gonna cut the nipple and weld it shut on the hard line, then the nipple from the block I'm gonna plug up. Do you know if that's gonna stop any flow?

I usually make a block off plate at the waterpump.Flow is fine.

Depending on how you have your radiator set up you can put a -4 fiting on block off plate ,and run a line to your fill pot.

Or just cap it & have a handy block drain!!! & it can be helpfull when bleeding the cooling sys.

Ditch the OEM style cooler. Order a oil cooler sandwich plate kit for a ford 8 cyl from Summit racing & go external cooler

Sooo I finally did some real work. Yanked all of the shit out from under the dash in preparation of cutting the firewall, and also stripped the bay of everything I won't need except the clutch line. I have almost every piece I need for the engine/trans. From here on is where the fabbing begins. I plan on backing the motor up about 4-4.5 inches from it's current position. From there, I'll get the driveshaft made, then the I/C and rad setup done as well. Then wire everything up and slide :driving:

Coming along reallllll slow. Motor and tranny is now mounted with no firewall mods. Oil pan sits about .25" above the crossmember and shifter needs to be extended about six inches. Driveshaft and shifter extension will be done this week.

Working on slimming the engine harness since I'm using the F-Con and won't need a lot of these BS sensors.

Got the oil feed line made with stainless fittings and teflon coated SS line, just need a
-10 fitting and some SS line for the return, and the turbo coolant lines as well. Intake side is all installed except for throttle body. Also, I plugged up all the useless water/heater core nipples.

People always say Z32's are heavy. How light can you get them stripped and caged?

Since I started out with an N/A Z, I don't have a lot of the bullshit TT's have. Even with A/C and ALL of the stock amenities, my car felt good and was pretty nimble. SPL's race car, with a VQ, weighed in at around 2450 according to them.

Awesome car !!! This is like the car that I envisioned a while back. I always loved the Z, but wasnt a fan of the VG30DETT setup as it was complex, expensive and pretty cramped. I chose the 1JZ for my 240SX because its cheaper then a 2JZ or RB26 yet delivers more power capability then an RB25, you can say its almost like a 26. Plus the parts for Toyota engines are way easier to get here in the US. I have Toyota of Elmhurst down the street from me and they keep twin turbo parts in stock.

Yeah they actually did!! I believe the stock hardtop weighed 3300! Same as a 350Z, and that's without removing the endless bullshit Z32's have.

Started prepping for the cage by removing the sound deadening where it was needed for the cage. I'll get the rest later when I have more time, I shaved 20 lbs just from the floor board!

Getting rid of ALL of the stock ABS shit. Before, fluid was going from the BMC to the ABS pump in the back of the car, then to the front. I'll either go with stainless line or bend up some hardline and put a proportioner in between them for the new setup.

And yeah those Bersaglios were AMAZING but completely nonfunctional, lol. I'm not running hellaflushillest fitment on this car anymore though, trying to find a nice Z32 shell since I have everything to go TT except the motor which I get for dirt cheap anyways.

Zero camber is magnificent. I actually like the cambered front, square rear wheel look. You can tell what the driver is into just by looking at the alignment.

COMPLETELY deleted ABS, modified one of the OEM lines for the rear brakes, then did custom lines for the front brakes. I used the drivers side brake line that runs to the back into the bulkhead for the ABS pump, rebent it, cut it, flared it, and used a 10x1.00 female to female fitting to tie into the existing "T" fitting for the rear brakes. On the front I used 3/16 tubing and -3 fittings with two 90* bulkheads on the fender wells, and one "T" to the BMC. The line that goes from the "T" to the front passenger side brake runs right along the front of the cross member. I actually had fun doing this, didn't even take that long with the proper tools!

Partied a little too hard this weekend and didn't get all the shit I wanted to get done finished. Modded the shifter to get rid of the retarded bends and also shortened it. Got creative with the piece that got cut off since it had some nice weight to it and made it a shift knob, lol. Installed a new shifter bushing and gasket as well.

Slimmed down the OEM harness, now only the tail light, tag light, and fuel pump wires are present. Just gotta put some loom on it now.

Got le wheels and tires mounted. Fronts are 18x9 +20 with a 15mm spacer and used 235/40 Hankooks, rears are 18x10 +18 with new 275/35 Nitto 555's. I love how it ended up looking, just gotta lower the car a tiny bit because it seems to have went up in height from losing so much weight :bigthumbu

Cut up the OEM radio bezel and fitted the Painless panel. It's where the A/C vents used to be.

Working on the fuse/relay panel. Still haven't decided whether I want to mount it under the dash or behind the seats.. Any input? I'd obviously cut the aluminum sheet smaller to fit it.. And I'd run the wiring under the center console.

Hey bros, some pics of the car. Still not finished though. Gotta button a few little things up and DEFINITELY lower the car.. lol. It's running good on stock ECU though. Will be at Tandemonium no doubt. Got the HKS BOV's off and all plugged up and put the Greddy Type-R on. Of course on my way home my luck kicked in.. Hood smashed my new windshield and the hood is screwed as well. DAS KEWL.

After the last skidpad i was at he let me tandem a few times, but i don't think he will at big track, it wouldn't be fair to other drivers with no cage i guess..

Power FC will be here this Friday :) Finishing up the exhaust and remounting the intercooler tomorrow. Also scooped up an extra pair of front knuckles to do the angle mod on. Hopefully getting a new windshield before the event(s?) this weekend.. It had a little run in with my hood -__-

Drove two events this weekend and the car ran flawless and the chassis feels great! Also got it aligned before I did the second event. It was WAYYY off, lol. We spent almost two hours getting it perfect, car felt soo much better than Friday. Sadly the Power FC didn't come in on time so I was hardly running any boost, had to sort of fight the car sometimes. Oh and R154's SUCK!! Here's the alignment specs and some pics to hold you over. Plenty more to videos to come!! I NEED MORE ANGLE!! Looking into switching to S-chassis front suspension using PBM knuckles :)

Overall, considering the car was on stock ECU and 7-8psi with a huge turbo and the car has weak ass angle, it felt great and I had a blast!! Can't want to feel it with power, angle, and GOOD tires!!

Conrad that was because that rb was making like 150 horsepower lol. It did feel like driving a KA car. Timing was off and it was only getting about 6psi. Once I got that stuff cleared it it felt like a new car and was mega fun.

These past two weeks have been SICK! Drove Mardi Drift at CFRC and another Tandemonium at Countyline! Had a blast at both, and also figured out what I need for my car. First and foremost, a new transmission.. lol Mine is popping out of 2nd, and it's also IMPOSSIBLE to downshift from 3rd>2nd. I'm also gonna need a 2-way, my stock diff has 155k+ and I've never changed the fluid ever... haha. Which could be why my car kept wanting to straighten out. Besides those two I didn't really run into any big problems. My alternator wire came out of the ring terminal at Countylin and I didn't notice till the Stack started warning me of low voltage after like 5-6 runs lol. Another problem I had was traction, I NEED TO START USING NEW TIRES!!! Drifting used tires SUCKS!

Haven't really done much to the car since December. Trying to save up money for a custom front end and stuff to get my oil cooler on. Also need an FIA approved seat and some other small things to pass tech for SWD Pro-AM at PBIR this year :)
