Hey everyone. I'm coming from a rotary (FC). This will be my first personally owned piston car so I have a few questions. I'm picking up a automatic 95 S14 in the next week or so. I want to swap a RB20 into it. I plan on picking up a R32 front clip to do the swap with. I've done a lot of reading trying to figure out what I'll be able to use off the clip and what I'll need to go to the junkyard or parts store. I have access to a welder so fabrication isnt a issue if I need to. I have a few questions about the swap.
1. Doing the auto to manual conversion, can I use all the pedal parts from the R32 clip or will I need to get a pedal assembly from another 240?
2. In the RB FAQ, people talk about using the R33 crossmember for mounting the engine, but nothing about the R32. Can I use it or will I need to fab up mounts? If I can use it, Can I use the S14's steering rack or do I need to swap over the R32's rack as well?
3. In a RB conversion into a S14 thread, I saw that someone had to remove some of the cover for their throttle cable. Is this required?
4. How big of a issue is the crank collar on these motors? I've seen that some people use aftermarket ones over the stock. Others weld the collar to the crank. Is this safe/necessary?
Thanks in advance for your replys!
