alright... this is embarassing, i was changing my plugs today in my sr20 and when i pulled the coil out the washers fell off of the screw into the plug well and managed to wedge themselves in next to the plug, a magnet didnt get them out and i dont know what to use to get these washers out. so far ive started looking for a nice long pair of needle nose plyers but im afraid they might not fit in next to the plug. any other suggestions? again this is embarrassing and im sorry to even waste a thread on something this trivial.

Take a plug wrench and loosen up the sparkplug... that should unwedge the little washer from between it and the wall, if I understand what you're saying. I wouldn't take the plug completely out for the fright of it falling into the cylinder, but if you loosen it, it should free up the wedged washer for a magnet to grab her.

Same thing happen to me when a friend decided to spit a sun flower seed that happen to jam itself next to the spark plug . My Snap-On guy sells the thinnest set of needle noses for stuff just like this you should invest in a pair yourself.

the way the washers are sitting next to the spark plug prevents the plug wrench from getting down deep enough to loosen the plug. the washer is really wedged in hard so i dont think that the vaccume or the magnet would work, i spent about an hour with a wire hanger trying to hook the washers out. im going to buy one of those super thin pairs of needle nose plyers and see how that works. if not some one said something about breaking the plug so ill have room to move around and pull the washers out but im not too sure that thats a good idea because once that plug cracks there will be even more peices down there that ill have to pull out and i dont want to risk anything falling into the whole once i do get the plug out.

why can't you pull the plug and pull the washer out of the cylinder with an extendable megnet tool

the washer is wedged in so that i cant even get the socket in place to loosen the plug.

Hmm. Maybe you can buy an oxygen sensor socket that is 5/8"

edit: or literally cut out a section the size of the washer out of your socket so you can get it in there.

Seems like a pretty DAMN GOOD idea to me... I'm starting to wonder how the hell you managed to wedge it so bad... lol
