im getting ready to do a whole bottom end rebuild on my s13 blacktop sr, but i was wondering how strong the sr heads are. what kind of HP ranges can i run with stock head internals?

Well,I parked a car on top of an SR head once. It held up fine.

I don't think the question is how strong is the head. I the the question should be, at what point is the head a restriction to flow

I think it's really a question of how high you want to rev/what cams you have. IMO if you're gonna rev it to 8000+ you should build the head. High revving SR's are known to have rocker arms jump off on the stock hydraulic valvetrain.

i know the T25 can hold 14lbs but can the head also hold that safely?

Yes, the head will hold that fine. The head gasket on the other hand should probably be replaced if you haven't done so already. Upgrade to ARP headstuds while you're at it as well.

Go over the FAQ's and guides, and search feature. Much like your other job, always reference the TM's and FM's first.
SR heads are fine for 95% of all users. If you're only racing it, or really revving it (probably because you are racing it), you already know what to address and change.
