i bought the car with all of these mods since ive bought the car ive burned through 2 ecu's apparently because my mafs wiring was shitty and shorting out. since ive replaced the wiring from mafs clip to the main harness i havent had any problems as far as the ecu. okay so now the car had been sitting since this past may up untill nov 23. because i lost the key. now instead of getting a key made i had to move the car in a bit of a hurry so i took the ignition cylinder apart and started the car like that. the car ran i drove it up the block a few times and it was fine. i parked it and now the car wont start anymore. the battery keeps dying from sitting. it needs a good charge but even when i charged it the car was cranking hard the fuel pump was turning on and it still wouldnt start. i disconnected the fuel line from the fuel rail and it seems to be getting fuel at least up to that point. i also disconnected my spark plugs and all four are getting spark. they smelt like fuel when i removed them and didnt look to healthy so i plan on changing them either way. but point being the car is cranking, getting fuel and spark wich tells me that the car should at least start for me. the car always had a hard start but not that bad. so anyone with any ideas as to something im missing or need to do that i havent yet please any input would be apreciated.

First, get a factory service manual (FSM), which you can found free online from a download. Within the fsm, you'll find troubleshooting steps for your car not starting.

Since you pulled the ignition, check that to make sure all the connections/wiring are okay. Something may have become loose or broken from you pulling it out. Never know.

i thought the same thing about the connections but the thing is the car ran after i pulled the ignition it literally ran i turned it off and then the next time i went to start it wich was a week later it wouldnt start.

Sounds like its just cold starting. change the plugs, it should start.

i really hope so...haha. what i keep going back to is what changed from the last time i started it to the time it wouldnt start...the car wasnt moved or touched or anything. hopefully its just tired and needs a bit more spark and maybe a nice warm day. the car always had a tough start up but it wasnt the worst ever.

You have fuel, and spark you're missing air. The wiring problems you had, previously may still be present. Disconnect the mafs from the intake try starting again.
Your battery drain problem maybe from removing the cylinder. I'm thinking, you where able the turn the car off, but not the ignition :( maybe ;) idk fix all the things you personally have broken.

I think the problem is due to the "rapped headers"LOL

I think you could have also shorted the ECM again when you messed with the ignition cylinder. or ecm wiring could just be loose.

yeah...the battery has been drained since before i even went to start the car, it just needs a good charge after sitting for six months, as far as the cylinder goes i literaly just seperated it into two peices and i turned the white plastic peice on the left side of the cylinder to start it it wasnt broken, it can be reassembled with 3 screws. but as far as the wiring goes should i check my mafs? and i know that one of the ka mafs is compatable with the sr anyone know which one that is?

hahaha...i didnt notice that on the headers i just copied the add that was posted when i got the car. but i was wondering if the ecm wiring was loose would the car still crank and just not actually start?
