identifying engine year

so i need to buy a valve cover gasket, but just in general. How can i find out what year i have for my ka. Supposedly its swapped by the previous owner so i want to know... Is there a stamp on the block or something?

if your valve cover has 3 bolts along the back of it its a 95+ if there is only 2 its 94 and below. but dosent mean your motor is s13 or s14. previous owner may have but a different head on.

Along the back or along the center? The s14 (95+) have 2 bolts on top inline with the spark plugs while the s13's (-94) have 3..

i doubt he did more than just dropping in a new motor. All i really care about is the s13 cams and what valve cover gasket to get lol

Thank though, i was expecting something intense, if not a thread would not have been needed
