I have a 1991 240sx, the car was driven 150 miles to my parents for thanksgiving, then sat for three days. When I started the car, everything was fine, drove about 8 miles to the store, car sat for about 2 hours. Came back outside and car started fine. Then as I was driving home the dash lights started to dim as well as the headlights. Then the radio started shutting off and the car began to sputter and cutout. When the lights were turned off the hesitation would lessen. Got the car limped home and while it was sitting in the driveway it eventually died. Now the car will only start with a jump and after about 5-10 minutes of idling it cuts out again....Battery is an interstate that is less than 2 years old. Haven't replaced the alternator yet, is this the problem? 75A fuse for alt. is still good. IF the problem is the alternator, will a new battery at least carry enough amps to get me home(assuming i dont use the headlights or radio etc.)

probably the alternator
Jump the car, After jumping the car pull off the Neg terminal, if the engine dies then the alt is dead and needs to be replaced.
Or if you got a Multimeter, you can check the voltage the alt is putting out at the battery, should be around or greater than 13.5V
Or take off the Alt and take it to Autozone and have them test it
Buy a new alternator, battery probably wont last 150miles

More then likely relays from low voltage.

I just need to get it to stay running long enough to get home.

1000% Alternator.

hes saying that a relay needs a certain level of voltage, but since your alt is gone they aren't getting that voltage so they are trying to engage and buzzing because they don't have the voltage to do so.

And a fully charged battery will only get you going for about 30mins to an hour tops, depending on what all you have on the car, if the car has a lot of power options, then less than that.

Exactly, they are clicking on and off making the buzzing noise.
Take the alt off and take it down to the store for a free test.
