i just bought my second S13 hatch and the previous owner said that one of the plug wires was bad and it idles low. i swapped plugs and wires and it did not fix the issue. lately the car idles low, feels horribly underpowered, and my exhaust now makes loud ass bang/pop noises (usually at high rpm, or high rpm gear changing) like if i run 2nd to 4000rpm when i shift to 3rd guaranteed gonna hear it pop. i know this is caused by the engine misfiring and sending unburnt fuel into the exhaust manifold, but what is causing my misfire. bad maf? and what are the chances my cat is ruined because of this.

Sounds like could be a burnt valve. I would do a compression test and see if you have a weak cylinder.
it was my injector....i was having the same problem for a month
