what does the lettering on the ecu mean? its from an s14 blacktop. and also there's a knob looking thing that has arrows in 2 different directions?

there are several ECUs...depends on whether it's auto/manual, s13/s14/s15, redtop/blacktop. etc. I believe there are threads about this already or atleast a FAQ.

62 - S13 SR20DET Redtop 5MT
63 - S13 SR20DET Redtop Auto
E5 - S13 SR20DET Blacktop 94-96
J4 - S13 180sx SR20DET Auto
J5 - S13 180sx SR20DET 5MT
WC - S14 Silvia SR20DET Zenki 5MT
NC - S14 Silvia SR20DET Kouki 97-98


The knob is a potentiometer. It's used to enter diag/debug mode on your ECU to assist you with troubleshooting/identifying error codes.

what lettering? the "WC" ??? AFAIK that's just an identifier to let you know what motor type it was "intended" for. Not sure if there's an actual chart that breaks it out or anything.
