My valve is stuck and making a loud ticking noise from number four cylinder on the intake side. If the valve is stuck open and causing the ticking could this affect compression in that cylinder?

What engine?
and yes if a valve is stuck open it will cause compression loss along with damage to the valve.

It's a ka24e
Ok im gonna put some transmission fluid in my oil and see if that helps and then i'll open my valve cover and inspect it. If I have low compression could that be why my car bogs and runs like crap?

Yeah youll notice a good bit of powerloss cuz you'll have close to Zero compression in that cylinder.
check the ECU for codes, might just be a bad sensor or vac leak

How did you determine that a 'valve' is stuck.

took a stethoscope and it was coming from the valve cover on the intake side on 4th cylinder. So i'm kinda guessing. But my buddies are telling me it sounds just like a stuck valve. I threw in some ATF in my oil and let it idle and drove around the block and now my car doesnt spit black liquid and smoke out the exhaust. Still bogs but not as bad as it did. still pretty bad tho

you think its that bad? I'd honestly probally just buy another single cam because there dirt cheap.
But I'm still gonna mess around with it. I'm gonna do a compression test today, check timing, and fuel injectors.

My post was sort of sarcastic, and I apologize about that.
Are you speaking about a lifter that is dead or something else? A stuck valve would nearly be impossible in these engines.

No worries. And i guess I'm not sure. Maybee a dead lifter. I guess I'll just have to take off my valve cover and see. Do you think that whatever it is that's ticking could be causing my bogging?
