I am going to be picking up a Sr20det engine from a friend for cheap and it has 1 bad cylinder wall and piston it's got some nicks and scratches. I understand I need to take it to a machine shop but what exactly need to be done? The cylinder is normally 86mm to my understanding. So do I have them bore it out to like 86.5 or 87mm? and then get a sleeve kit or bigger pistons?

get it bored, you dont necessarily have to sleeve it. Well it all depends on how much you bore it, just go through the fsm. I cant remember off the top of my head what their specifications are..

Just see how much you have to bore it like I luv my s13 said. Then depending on that, just by the right size pistons. Cp pistons tend to be everyone's fav.

Ok thanks guys. So my understanding is tak it to the machine shop and see how much it needs to be bored and if it needs to be bored say .5 over I would get .5 over oem pistons. Anything else I would need to bore and get new like the head and stuff? Also I've searched everywhere for a s13 sr20det service manual and couldnt find any.
