Just done an S13 swap in a hatch for a friend. Timing is set roughly around 15 degrees [eyeballed it done plenty of times] new plugs, good compression [all 140-150]. No vacuum leaks as far as I know since I redid all the lines. It runs pig rich w/ the MAF connected.

The engine at idle shakes pretty good but stays around 3-600rpm. But when I disconnect thew MAF it idles like a champ at 7-800rpm smooth as butter, and alos does not run rich anymore.
I can rev the car over 2500rpm w/ the maf connected, which makes me wonder.

Any quick suggestions I can try? Ty :w00t:

you sure there are no leaks ?

sounds like you have a big leak in your intercooler piping.

dont worry man , i ran into the EXACT same problem when i did a sr swap for my buddy lol.

This is the 4th swap Ive done, I just cant see it being a big arse leak, its a brand new Greddy kit.

Could just be a bad maf, do you have access to another one to try? My first Z32 one reacted normally.. other than it was at least 0.5v higher than it should have been and made the car run super rich.

make sure the electrodes on the maf are not caked in dirt or black, spray some electrical cleaner on it.

Had a similiar problem at work but with a motorhome. It was running like crap and one of the techs just unplugged the maf so the ecu would take the reading from the map sensor instead. Later replaced the maf and it was good.

Sorry for no update, turns out the guy that did the harness, the ground for the maf didnt get soldered properly, so no maf ground. All good now. :bigok:
