Hey I just got my ka-t finished, and its been having some idling problems, but the real issue i am having is that the turbo is not spooling? the wastegate is working fine, and i do not hear an exhaust leak from the manifold (would still spool though), and im going to to a boost leak test, but im pretty sure there are no major leaks. anything else that could cause this? turbo is a t25, supposedly rebuilt when i bought it, no shaft play, spins freely

boost controller is not hooked up yet, wastegate goes to hotpipe, bov on brake booster

also, just making sure, but i thought t25 spooled loudly right? i dont have a boost gauge so i dont know if its boosting, but could it be that it just isnt a loud spool and the exhaust is drowning it out?

does the car drive ok? does it make boost? i thought iu had "proof: of it not spooling. it shouldnt be too loud.

no i couldnt test drive it because we couldnt get the timing right. its at spencers now, so hopefully get it back tomorrow

What makes you think the turbo isn't spooling?
If your getting compressor surge then that means its spooling.

no i couldnt test drive it because we couldnt get the timing right. its at spencers now, so hopefully get it back tomorrowon that note, if mechanical timing is off then you motor wont actually get boost, your turbo Will be boosting but you wont feel it!

alright cool i think that is whats going on, its spooling (but the noise is drowned out) but not boosting due to timing. thanks for all your answers
