Building a reliable RB25 ?

Hi guys :wave:

Basically im building a Onevia to house my RB25 that I had in my S13 but id like to make it right first time.

Im not that clued up on turbos, tuning etc so thought id ask the great knowledge of the internet :)

Im looking for about 400 - 450bhp but would like it to be driveable power much like the engine in standard form (not alot of lag and a wide powerband).

Ive read so much about oil restrictions / draining modifications, turbos inlets etc and so many different views on everything that I dont know where to start.

I would prefer to run stock internals due to cost and dont really want to touch the rev limit. Top mount turbo is an option but again I have no iea of the real benefits of it other than looking good :doh:

Would anyone be able to spec me a setup that they think will be close to my needs or is there anyone running a setup that is quite like what I think I want ?

i hear that rbs can hold like 500 hp with stock internals but idk id be scared to have that much power with stock internals. atleast change your headgasket or something lol

just get a bigger turbo that goes onto your stock manifold and just boost it up a bit. im sure 350-400 is pretty good

but i think it all comes down to a good tune

Keep the stock log manifold and slap a Garrett 3071R on there with 0.63 exhaust housing in T3 flanged housing. It will spool up fast and will start to run out of steam at your power goal.

People usually go topmount due to upgrading to a bigger turbo which the bottom mount won't much space to house it. Also the routing of the piping on the intake and the DP would be extremely difficult. I'm in the middle of my RB25 build in S14. Stock internals, 60-1 turbo topmount, headgasket, timing belt, N1 oil pump, N1 water pump, front & rear main seals, etc. I'm planning to keeping mine around 375-400 bhp since I will be beating it all day long at the tracks. GL with the build.

First off for it to be realiable change all the gaskets/seals, Water pump, Oil pump, and timing belt then go from there.. the bottoms can handle a good amount of power... agreed with Darius slap on a 30R and you'll be good...

im running a gt3071R on mine at 10psi waiting to get a tune and some injectors and at 10psi it pulls nice and im running it on the stock manifold

Are you on SXOC back in England?

I am buidling an RB25DET s14a at the moment, will be running stock internals, but with an MSL metal Head Gasket and Greddy Style intake!
The turbo is a Kinugawa TD06 SL20G with a T3 adaptor as i have kept it from my old and knackered SR20 DET but is still good for 430bhp.
