I didn't see a thread for this so decided to post it up and see what others might think of this movie.

Personally, I enjoyed it like crazy lol. I was laughing through about 70% of the entire movie. The whole meshing of 16-bit video game art throughout the movie really made it visually pleasing. I don't know... I'm not much of a movie critic but this one goes towards the top of my list on favorite movies :D.

Just saw this last night. Great movie. Its funny, cute and entertaining. Of course it is a love story and it has its sappy part at the end but even then its still funny.

Yes sir! I read all 6 comic books and the books are way more epic, but the movie was nothing short of a blast to watch. Highly recommend this movie.

I would guess Michael Cera is genuinely funny in real life but the character he is playing is pretty much himself so it's really going to be hard to break out of it.



Plus he's been in a ton of stuff and most, if not all, does well so until that check doesn't clear, Hollywood ain't gonna stop eating out.

Honestly, I have never even heard of the comic books until I watched the Comic-Con coverage by G4, and they had mentioned it.

I knew the movie couldn't have just magically come from a brilliant Hollywood director from thin air; I mean I sort of knew it had to have been a comic book movie, but I had no idea how "cutesy" the type of style/art the comic book had, which made the movie instant win just from watching the trailers.

Shit, even without knowing what the movie was about, the trailers made it look pretty damn funny.

It was just fun, fast paced, and witty. Plus, it had a great soundtrack.

Went into watching the movie with no idea what it was about.

First ten minutes of the movie had me laughing a 'wtf?' type of laugh. Then after I was accustomed to what type of movie it was, I kept laughing and enjoying it til the end. The vegan thing was hella funny too. hahaha.
I would definately watch it again, as well, maybe even buy it once it comes out on DVD (blueray can kiss my ass).

Only people I could see not being able to fully enjoy it, are people who have never played a video game, watched anime or kung fu hustle, and is a totally serious bear.
