Thats wierd the tranny blew? What exactly do you mean blew? Does it go into any gears? So let me get this straight, you are supposed to be driving the car from Florida to Washington and got stuck?
I mean I wish I could be of help, the only thing we could do here is help diagnose whats wrong with it, but we would need more details on what it will not do or what noises it makes etc.
Try posting in the regional section as well

You made three threads on this?
Hit up craigslist and post up a WTB thread. What's so hard about that?
Best thing would have been to make a thread in the regional section.

This
Can you double clutch it into gear? Perhaps your master cylinder shit out or your clutch slave. Both super simple fixes that cost collectively 30$ to repair both.

What happens when you push the clutch down? Does the pedal stay on the floor? Does it grind trying to go into every gear? If its grinding, check out the little rod connected to the clutch pedal, and adjust it so the rod is more unthreaded than threaded in, with more of the rod towards the front of the car than past where it connects to the pedal at.

I thought i was crazy but you are even crazier then me. I feel you man, i was in that situation before worse because i didn't have cell phone (it ran out of battery) and no internet. I took my car from Norcal to Socal in my shitty CRX, on the way back the alternator died. No one could help me, it was 3 am, i didn't know any one around there. What i did was i looked up a yellow book on some public phone booth. I looked for a tow truck numbers and shops close by (same area code) then i started to call them up as soon as it hit 8am. You'll be okay man. You don't really need to go to japworks, just go to some shop close by and get another Ka tranny.
As of right now, just try to get some rest, you have a long way home so rest as much as you can, deal with this in the morning.

What won't engage in any gear? Can you get it in gear or does it just grind? Can you get it in gear with the car off? How is the clutch? If the clutch is good, my next guess would be the synchros, in which case you could go way back when, before they had synchros and double-clutch. No F&F intended.

pm sent It will not go in gear when the car is off

maybe you slave cylinder blew... i had the same problem driving my car.. shit jst didnt want to go to gear. in or out if the car is on idle, but when the car is off, it goes in...
check the most simple stuff.. IE clutch fluids, master cylinder, leaks under your dash above clutch pedal. then your slave cylinder.. its an easy fix if thats your problem.
but if its really the tranny.. your shit outta luck.. goodluck
az_240
08-06-2010, 03:18 AM
Sounds like you might have blown the clutch line... check out the master cylinder to see if you have fluid... drivers side corner of the engine bay...the smaller resevoir
all4bspinnin
08-06-2010, 10:15 AM
the agree with the guys above... sounds like a clutch line or slave... if it was a broken tranny you'd still have your other gears (typically)
Nate911
08-06-2010, 10:27 AM
it has fluid in it still no luck someone help
Sam_Well.13
08-06-2010, 10:32 AM
can you get it in gear while the car is off?
did you happen to check under your dash on the clutch pedal for leaks?
Did you check your slave cylinder for leaks?
it might have fluid in the master cylinder, but if you have a blown seal, its not gonna hold pressure when you press the clutch pedal.
g35gabby
08-06-2010, 10:36 AM
so still have all your fluids,
the clutch goes up and down just fine
When you say it "grinds" what does that mean exactly? does it not allow you to go into gear, and is just stuck or does it force itself back out of gear when attempting to push it into gear?
there is that old saying...... if you cant find it grind it........
maybe you could tell us what you did on the way to Ocala to figure out where the problem is. were you doing some pulls or something? if you were cruising at 2AM on the toll roads or interstate......... You shouldnt hardly even need to change gears.
That car was very well built and cared for, so I'm not saying it is your fault, but something had to happen to cause this issue. Transmissions dont just all of studden die out.
I wonder if the clutch fork isn't mis-aligned.
Nate911

Yes checked it its kinda low to get under to check for leaks goes in to gear when its off.

I knind of though the welded diff mite have blown sam the guy i bought it from has an open diff i could have taken but didnt have room.
Sam_Well.13
08-06-2010, 11:05 AM
if you break the driveshaft or diff, it would still run, but will have a very disturbing "clunking" sound.. had the same problem with my friends S2k..
so cliff notes of this problem:
*driving 100 miles @ 70 mph cruising
*5th gear suddenly popped out and couldnt get it into to ANY gear since
*clutch line and pedal are firm and checked no fluid leak
*could get into gear @ idle but doesnt go nowhere
*Car doesnt go into gear when car is off
You might want to clarify the 2 bolded red lettering... and maybe write a cliff notes of your own for everyone to understand. apparently im gettin confuse myself..=/:bash:
