http://www.gobizcorp.com/modules/layout/faceoff/images/is1.gif STEP 1
Remove the plastic backing from the double-stick mounting tape on the base of the unit. Attach the recorder so that the camera lens is placed behind the review mirror, as shown above.

• Apply force on the double-stick tape for 4-5 seconds to ensure that it is firmly attached.
http://www.gobizcorp.com/modules/layout/faceoff/images/is2.gif STEP 2
Insert the SD card into the SD card slot on the side of the product. Plug the power plug into the power jack below the SD card slot.

• Insert SD card before plugging in power jack.
http://www.gobizcorp.com/modules/layout/faceoff/images/is3.gif STEP 3
Push the power cord into the opening between the windshield and the roof. If the power cord seems loose, fix it with the provided spacers (in 3 locations).

• The cushions cannot be used in all models of automobiles.
http://www.gobizcorp.com/modules/layout/faceoff/images/is4.gif STEP 4
Continue inserting the power cord along the side of the windshield. (Use a thin plastic object such as a credit card if necessary.) If there is no opening, fix the cord with the provided metal clips and double-stick tape (in two locations).

• Remove dirt and dust before attaching the tape.
• When placing wires on the windshield, be careful not to damage the windshield with the clips.

http://www.gobizcorp.com/modules/layout/faceoff/images/is5.gif STEP 5
Open the door on the front passenger’s side and push the cord into the opening in the vertical direction of the dash board. If this does not work well, try fixing the cord with the provided clips and double-stick tape (in 1 spot).
http://www.gobizcorp.com/modules/layout/faceoff/images/is6.gif STEP 6
Fix the power cord to the edge along the door frame (in 1 spot).
http://www.gobizcorp.com/modules/layout/faceoff/images/is7.gif STEP 7
Lift up the floor mat and place the power cord to the console box underneath it.
http://www.gobizcorp.com/modules/layout/faceoff/images/is8.gif STEP 8
Fix the power cord to the console box using the provided clips and double-stick tape. This is the last step of installation.
http://www.gobizcorp.com/modules/layout/faceoff/images/is9.gif STEP 9
Plug the power plug into the cigarette power socket inside the car.

This looks pretty damn legit, only question is, how much does it cost?

cost, the gopro hd cam is nice for the money, so this would have to beat that out.

the gopro only has 1 camera, you gotta buy a 2 of em to get inside the cabin and outside. pluss i am not sure if the go pro has 3 axis g sensor, or gps mapping / speed mapping?

here are some sample videos i found on you tube... weird korean videos
YouTube - GOST Actual Footage.mov (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcPlBxxQxaA)
and another russian video which shows a screenshot of how it is on your comp
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. (http://www.youtube.com/watch#%21v=R3v6witmP6M&feature=related)

how much is gopro, these will be around $249

zar, i could you read your whole message, your iphone4 must have a reception problem :o)

Pretty cool that it has a g-sensor; go pro lacks gps, dual camera, g-sensor but will still provide better video quality over the gost camera. an alternative option would be the vholdr contour hd

Contour | Products | Contour HD (http://contour.com/products/contour-hd)

however, it lacks a g-sensor.

i'm pretty sure the gopro/contour are for a completely different use than this one. those are for fun, this is for some big brother shit.

p.s.

CARPA-120

works well, records fair,

2 BIG PROBLEMS, 1ST, THE WINDOW FOR THE PLAYBACK CANNOT BE MADE TO GO FULL SCREEN. 2ND, IT RECORDS IN 3 MINUTE INTERVALS AND IF YOU WANT TO SAVE ALL THE INTERVALS TO YOUR COMPUTER YOU HAVE TO DO IT ONE INTERVAL AT A TIME. YOU CANNOT BATCH SAVE. EXTREMELY STUPID AND VERY IRRITATING. IF YOU TAKE A 3 HOUR TRIP AND WANT TO SAVE IT TO YOUR COMPUTER, YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO DO IT IN 3 MINUTE SEGMENTS, AND THE OWNERS MANUAL DOESN'T EVEN TELL YOU HOW TO DO THAT. YOU HAVE TO FIGURE IT OUT.

ALSO,IT USES DAT FILES THAT THAT CAN ONLY BE READ BY THE CARPA SOFTWARE.

VERY UNINFORMATIVE USERS MANUAL

ABSOLUTELY NONE, ZERO, SUPPORT FROM THE MANUFACTURER. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK. IF IT STOPS WORKING YOU MIGHT AS WELL THROW IT AWAY, BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT FIND A PLACE FOR WARRANTY REPAIR.

RECCOMMENDATION? DO NOT BUY, I WISH I HAD NOT I initially was contacted by GOBIZ to test these for my company's fleet. I bought one to field test. Never worked right. They gave me another one. It worked for a few months. During the 8 months beyond that period it is very flaky. It constantly corrupts the SD card causing loss of all video saved. Very temperamental; just works now and then. Tried new SD cards, same thing.

As far as I can tell, the US shop of GOBIZ in Poway, CA has closed up shop. Their web page went down and has been 'under construction' for months now.

BUYER BEWARE of buying these from anyone. It appears that the company realized they are junk and packed up and left. There hasn't been any firmware updates since about the time I got mine over a year ago.

IT DOES NOT WORK. Nice concept, great idea but simply poorly designed.

Beware of these CAPRA 120's.

They all eventually stop working right. Constantly corrupting the SD card resulting in loss of data.

The company that sold them in the US, GOBIZ Corp, has folded up shop in Poway, CA. Web page down for months with Under construction messages.

No firmware updates in nearly a year to fix the problems.

I field tested units for our fleet and have went through several replacements from GOBIZ but after a few months they quit.

Totally unreliable.

great concept. Software for playback needs work, as other reviews have mentioned, but it does the job. But you will find AT BEST about 30% of the video segments will work when you play them back, the rest will just lock up the player as they have been corrupted. Eventually, as both units I've had did, they will just start wiping out the format on the SD card after being powered up for about 24 hours and you will get no video at all and need to reformat.

As far as I can tell, this is abandoned hardware and there will not be any support or updates.

Of course they have different uses; Where as the gorbiz seems to just be meant for automotive use. GoPro and Contour have roll cage, window mounts for your racing needs.

Plus they record in 1080P. and GoPro can shoot in 3D as well, if you have two.

gopro is to shoot video of you racing, to make a fun video to put online and share with people.

this thing is designed to record all the time, to provide video evidence when you get into an accident. they're completely different uses.

what makes you say you can't use a gopro or contour all the time while you drive?
