Just curious to know if anyone is using an AEM Digital Oil Pressure Gauge with a GReddy oil pan on their SR20DET... I attempted to thread it in last night and was not sure if the thread pitch was the same. I have been searching online, but have not found an answer yet. I am guessing it might be a NPT vs. PT issue? My Defi sensor threaded in just fine when I had it. I'll keep searching for an answer and post up if I find the thread pitches. Open to any previous experience or thoughts- thanks!

yes it is an NPT VS BSPT you will need an adaptor or drill and tap for NPT.

Why are you putting a oil pressure gauge in your oil pan?

You know... your post just made me realize that doing so doesn't make much sense, does it?:ddog: I had a set of 6 Defi gauges that I was planning to run, which included oil temp and oil pressure, so oil temp was going to go in the pan. Now that I am only going to run oil pressure, it's not going to get a reading from the bottom of the pan, is it?

Maybe I will run a tee from the stock oil pressure switch instead....

I would just replace the stock sending unit.

It is only a dummy light.

and taking it off doesnt cause a CEL...so its fine...honestly why not just run an adaptor?

the sensor is only two wires.

one runs to the light on your dash and the other gets grounded if you ever lose oil pressure.

by the time the light comes on, it is already to late.

a good oil pressure gauge should come with a length of braided line to relocate the aftermarket sending unit anyways.

my omori did anyways.

Meaning an adapter to make the AEM sender fit in the factory location? I didn't realize that the stock sensor only activates the dummy light. I guess I thought it had something to do with the ECU as well, but that makes sense!

But just to clear things up, I will not get an accurate oil pressure reading from the oil pan location, correct? It would only make sense to use that port for an oil temp gauge?

I am assuming this is what I am looking for? It has been a long time since I ran oil pressure/temp gauges without a sandwich plate:
