im installing my ems today and i need to know where to put the intake air temp, and map sensor. i know these are total noobie questions but i know nothing about the ems. my uncle is a tuning freak and wants to install this for me.
i have a greddy intake manifold, so should i use the tapped areas on bottum of the plenum?

any help would be great.:hyper:

MAP sensor should be from intake manifold....YES, use one of the ports on the Intake Mani.

Personally, I have my intake air temp sensor in the cold pipe pre-throttle body.

I believe that putting it in the Intake Manifold can lead to heat soak, which is bad.

With my car just cruising, my Intake Air Temp sensor regularly reads within a degree or two of the outside temperature, a good sign it is NOT getting heat-soaked....

The air is in contact with the walls of the intake manifold for such a short period of time, that I can't imagine that it heats up much between the throttle body and the intake ports anyway.....

The key thing with that sensor is that you want it somewhere that you are getting a CONSISTENT reading free from heat-soak.

thank you for clearing that up. wht a pain in the ass to find that info on the web.

what about hooking them to the harness? where do they need to be tied into?

This I don't know....for the PFC, the MAP sensor had it's on little mini-harness and plugged into the side of the ECU...

The IAT sensor had a mini 2-wire harness, and required adding 2 wires to the ECU bundle....

No guarantee that the wires get added in the same spots though for AEM

the iat came with a little instruction sheet and references some wire to use

the map sensor says i need to reference a 5v source and a sensor ground, NOT a chassis ground

There are plenty of sensor ground pins in the ECU.....

You need to make sure you have the right ECU pinout for whichever ECU/motor you have (IE 62 vs. E5 vs. J4 etc etc)

sensor grounds = TONS

5v source on the other hand...not to sure. ill look and see what i can find
