1. Go to my friends house and tell him I need to adjust my idol, he is confident you do this by adjusting your distributor, despite my hankering that it was otherwise. We mess with the distributor and idol goes down, but my car runs like diarrhea down a smooth slope.

2. I hear a ping in my engine, took it to shogun and they diagnosed it as a broken tensioner on my timing chain. Said the noise was the chain pinging against the deflector shield.

3. They said it was "not a problem" and I was on my way, driving from place to place as normal.

4. I pull into a parking lot and am cruising around in 2nd gear, my car shuts off and will no longer start. It cranks, sounds pretty normal when I try to start it but no worky.

What do you think Zilvia? Should I run naked into the nearest minefield?

Hmm, car turns over and won't start? Check to see if you have air, spark and fuel. Take one of those away and your engine will not run. Could be whatever sensor tells the coil to fire (im not too familiar with SRs) cam/crank sensor. Or you didnt tighten the distributor back down and it moved... I am guessing the dist... start there and see what happens

Checked the distributor, the fuel filter and fuel pump, all prime. Took off the valve cover and everything looked good, removed chain guard plate. Broke the head off a spark cover while I was putting everything back together X_X. Would a bad O2 sensor cause it to not start?

Check if you have fuel pressure - pinch the line and see if you feel the pressure.

Check spark - Stick a screwdriver in the coil and see if it arcs. Use a towel or insulated screwdriver, don't be dumb.

If both of these are good, take out the CAS and rotate it manually to see if the injectors fire.

Well when I just took off the valve cover the tensioner actually looked fine. Im going to try what ewok said and if that all fails than looks like its going off to the shop for a professional to figure out. Fuck me sideways.

Took it up to Juan in Perris, CA

Turns out it was an issue with the wiring harness, some shorts.
