Set it to stock timing timing. If you're still not sure about that, run a stock ECU.

yeah, i actually had it at 15* and it ran like crap. i guesstimated it at 55* (which made it run alot better) but wouldnt trust driving it until i knew exactly its right. i dont have a stock ecu at the moment so any info on my issue will be greatly appreciated.

Set the timing to where stock should be and then advance it slowly until you find that sweet spot. Your mines ecu is probably set for a slightly advanced timing, rev cut, speed cut, and boost up yeah? How is that harness working out for ya?

Why the fuck would you want to advance the base timing up to 55? Leave it at 15, the timing map in the ECU is probably more advance than stock already. You add more timing into that thing, you'll say hello to Rod Knockville...

upon more searching, i found out that the readings are different depending on how i hook up the timing light to the black loop next to the firewall (one direction gives a 40* reading, the other direction gives a 20*). its currently at 20*, when set at 15* it has a mean misfiring/hesitation when entering boost (3.5k+ rpm).
