Can I use myWalbro 255lph as external fuel pump with fuel cell setup?
what do I need to make it work right?

I'm not an expert on these, but wouldn't an external fuel cell work just the same as your normal fuel tank, just relocated somewhere else (and usually smaller). If so, you may just have to extend some wires or something and everythign should work fine, but like I said, I am not and expert on these.

There is no mounting spot for fuel pump inside the fuel cell,it requires external fuel pump.
the question was "can i use me walbro as a external pump"? (inline)

I'm gonna guess no as in tank fuel pumps are cooled by the fuel they are dunked in.
Just sell your walbro and buy an inline..done deal.

This, the walbros are notorious for overheating and failing because of this. I am real paranoid about driving with low gas because of this lol. Changing a fuel pump after having a full tank of gas sucks ass .
But in your case, using it externally I do not believe they are designed for any use besides a drop in. They may have an external model but I would use something more reliable like an aeromotive or trick fuel.

I agree blew the pump on the track cause it was 1/4 tank and cornering... Sucks towed home 80 miles... thank god for AAA+ my friend let me borrow...

Decided to buy a walbro inline external pump same 255lph.
Wondering if It will need a fuel cooler?
What should I do with a Breather holeon the top of the fuel cell?(I deleted EVAC can)

I would run a hose of of the breather hole and vent it somewhere to the atmosphere. You will probably smell fuel VERY bad if you leave it open. If you try to plug it/cover it you may build up TOO much pressure inside the fuel cell.
As far as needing a fuel cooler, it can't hurt any...right? Walbro's already have cooling issues, right? So why not protect your pump more so you do not have future issues, especially at the track, like slider was talking about. If you want to be 100% about if you need a fuel cooler or not, just call Walbro and ask them.

Never EVER have had any walbro issues, low fuel or not. Sure on track I've had circumstances were 1/8th tank may result in a hiccup on hard cornering, but it serves as a reminder to pull in for fuel for me.
With a fuel cell, you'd be running a gravity fed inline setup as it was. 255HP inline should do the trick.
(I run a 255 in tank, and a 255 in line)

The fuel pump should be cooled by the fuel going through it. Not the fuel it is sitting in.
Just like how an outboard motor will overheat if it isn't in water, that's because water needs to move through it.
I wouldn't see any reason as to why the fuel pump would overheat externally as long as it is pumping fuel and isn't run dry.
You could also find a heatsink to attach to the fuel pump that could help it radiate heat better.
