I just ran a boost leak test last night from the hot pipe to try and get a more accurate leak down test when I noticed a huge leak from my HKS wastegate, I have it somewhat tightened up and am pushing around 11psi right now. It's leaking a ton of air from the area where the rod and 2 bolts on the back are. Is this a torn diaphragm or is this because the rod is tightened up? Anyone ever had an internal wastegate fail on them? Also, I tried to push through about 20 psi on the tester so I'm not sure if this is how it bleeds air if it's reading above the set boost, or what's going on. Any ideas?

i currently have somewhat of the same problem going on , its a stock wastegate on my gt28rs , i dont know if its coming out by the rod but i know that i can blow thru the nipple and also suck air back out, it will boost up but fades back from about 15 to 12 and my pfc boost controller is set at 18 so i ordered a new one and we will see

I wonder if this is the same problem i'm having? When I first installed the hks wastegate it boosted 12psi all day no problems. All of sudden it will only boost 9psi?
