Just pulled my motor today, and i wanna clean it up before i just put it in another car, so i was wondering what i need to worry about covering it up before I use some engine foam or something to clean it off after i replace some gaskets. Also heard you can delete every vacuum line on a KA, is this a 100% true statement? Figured i'd ask before I try to be THAT guy and act like i know how to do it all when i dont and fuck something up.

i have always cleaned engines while on a vehicle. i always cover the starter, spark plug ports, and the capacitor if that type of vehicle has one! but that is because when ur cleaning it like at a car wash u have to be able to drive back home and if these parts get wet than the car wont start. but if the engine is off it will have enough time to dry up when u clean it up!!

you can delete a lot of vacuum lines on a lot of cars, but you can't get rid of every vacuum line.

you need the idle air control valve to get fresh air in front of the throttle body, you need a vacuum line going to the brake booster, you need a vacuum line going to fuel pressure regulator, you need a vacuum line going to the pcv valve and that's it for bare minimum.....
