Use the idle adjustment screw on the Throttle body of course

I've noticed on some cars, that even changing the IACV screw wont' really fix idle withotu locking the car into timing mode.
What are you trying to set the idle to? I don't know how it escaped Nissan guys, but this seems to be a common issue, in that the ECU targets an idle speed based on the coolant temperature.
As you open up the IACV screw, you're increasing the amount of air the IACV constantly flows, which just means the IACV has to use less of a duty cycle to get a given amount of air(this is good if you add cams and increase the amount of air the motor flows at idle).
What you really need to do is just change the target idle RPM map in the ECU, that'll get you your desired idle whether it be 500 RPM or 2000 RPM.

just chiming in for another thought, is there a possibility that your CAS is incorrectly set? usually that won't set your idle too low, but it's something to check if you are diagnosing

This is why you can use the NDS/consult to change it. Bring up all values to operating, and it will adjust (consult is % NDS is numerical value) properly.

hey guys...i was gone for the holiday weekend sorry to not reply.
Here is the upfate:
I talked with steve shadows about this and we trouble shooted a few things.
i went racing friday night and thats why i needed this fixed so bad. well more issues have risen. idle is still low, and barely does it on its own. now the car is over heating at idle wit the hood open and 2 e-fan (altima) running constantly. car sits for 30 min, still boiling hot. im afraid to keep running it all, but i obviously need to fix this;
i checked the CAS and its set correctly. the base timing is 30 degrees advanced. if i try to retard it with the CAS the car stalls.
im going to check for vacuum leaks and any other leaks that might cause all this to happen. i will also check the thermostat and see whats going on with that.
i have a consult but i can never get it to work. i will see about getting a laptop that has a serial port and see what i can do.
let me know your suggestions please

ive had bad temp. sensors causing horrible idle and causing stalls. temp sensor to the ecu is only $30 at the dealer.
