I bought myself a sandwich plate a while ago which came off an S14a SR20DET engine, i had thought that this would be a straight fit on my 180sx SR20DET blacktop engine but i have been told that the threads are different.
In the UK we apparantly have to use Nissan Micra oil filters instead on an S14 one (so this will help along with my next oil change) can anyone give me a answer with 100% Certainty that it wont fit.
thanks.

S13 SR and S14 SR have different threds for the oil filter yes. Also in my opinion I have the sandwhich plates, they suck and they will leak in the O ring over time, Every 3-5 oil changes you have to change that O wing between the plate and the block it seems, they harden and leak. If i was you and I had a reason for a sandwich plate, i would get a CS or tomi or even mazworks oil black (replaces the factory oil filter block) and just relocate it, that way you can avoid the sandwich plates. Thats me, a lot of people use the plates and dont have problems.

thanks for that mate, i guess i will be selling it then.
i only go for the sandwich plate for ease of fitting and it should be well over a year or 2 before the seal starts drying up surely???

I have seen the good ones go a long time, but the cheap ebay shit seems the seals dry up for some reason, Just like oil filters the O rings go bad over time and will start to harden and leak on people who never change there oil haha. Why do you even need a plate? aftermarket sensors?
