MAF sensor question

hey guys!

So, i took my s14 to a shop to get it checked out because it keeps shutting off during idle at a stop light. At the shop they told me it could be the wiring from my MAF sensor.

I was wondering if there is anything else i should check out before i spend money at the shop. thanks!

thats usually the culprit of that symptom. i say go ahead and get that taken care of.

take out the maf and clean it and see if it will still die

I heard sometimes its a problem with the ground in the maf. see if you can re solder it or something.

Clean the MAF, then Check all the vacuum lines on the intake tube to see if there's no cracks or disconnections.

I say if u are good with electrics than make your own maf pig tail, don't pay a shit load of money to a shop for just wiring, idk bout the area u live in but over where I'm by shops don't have to give u an estimate on and electric work, thus ripping u a new one for somethin u can possibly do... Just get same gauge wire, extra pigtail clips for the connection and make your own
