I know that this isn't an S-chassis, but, I figured that you guys would get a kick out of this.. :)
I just finished up a turbo VQ35 swap into my customer's 2003 Sentra Spec V. It's got full function, including CVTC, VIAS, and 100% passes a plug-in test, as well as a sniffer (has a converter).

Nothing crazy.. but, you really don't need much, in a B15 chassis. ;) It's non-intercooled, but, we're running methanol injection. The gate is set at 7psi, and the spool up time is crazy fast.. It comes on at about 23-2500rpm in 3rd gear. I have a good bit of timing pulled, just to give my customer a "cushion", but, it's still very fast. Here's a quick video, just playing around on some back roads. :)

Again.. I know it's not an S-chassis, but, I figured that you guys would enjoy. :coold:

So what power range are we talking about here? Also, how usuable is the power band as far as traction goes...

I've got about 40 VQ swaps under my belt, in the 2002-2006 B15 chassis.. I started back in 2005, and had the first swap in existance. That car went 12.95 @ 105mph, with 24.5 x 8" slicks. It had nothing more than a short ram intake, factory headers, custom 2.5" y-pipe and Greddy 2.5" exhaust. Since then, I've built 8K rpm N/A VQ's, nitrous'd VQ's, and now a turbo VQ. :) We broke 11's last fall, with a 100 shot, on a cammed/bolted VQ. Of course, traction is always the enemy.
I use the Spec V 6spd's guts, and swap them over to the Maxima case. The transmissions are identical, except the Maxima doesn't have LSD (in most cases), and it has a taller final drive. The shorter final drive, and HLSD, work great for N/A VQ's.

2500rpm to the limiter.. It has TONS of TQ, and a very broad powerband. I'll admit, the power is absolutely useless (even on drag radials), until midway through 3rd gear. But, it's still fun as hell to drive. You can explore the limits of traction with your right foot, and mash on it whenever you get to the point where it won't spin the tires anymore (about 50mph).

Here's one that went 11's, missing 4th gear.. ;)

My customer, Jerry, was still learning how to drive the car. It was his 2nd pass on slicks.. ever.. You can hear him bang the limiter, granny shifting, etc.. lol!
That's JWT C8's, bolted, and a 100 shot.
