ka24e rocker arm ticking again

It started ticking last week but a mechanic fixed it on monday and now it's ticking again. i know it's the rocker because it's making the same noise it did last week. anyone know what could be wrong? the mechanic said he replaced the rocker arm(or w/e), he's going to fix it tomorrow but i really need the car and can't have it breaking down every 2 days. really pissin me off.

this happens to my single slammer only in the morning for about like a mile then it fades away. idk what it it is tho. lmk if you find out. :D .

I had a tick on my SOHC... i pulled both rails with lifters and cleaned everything out... there was so much crap inside the rails and the lifters where hella dirty....

then did an oil change with 3 quarts oil 1 quart ATF to help clean everything out

i guess it was a lifter, the ticking was really loud so i stoped driving it for a bit. it's fixed now though, although there is still some light ticking, not too loud but it kinda worries me. mechanic said it was normal...anyways, should i be worried? also, i noticed that after driving for a bit on the freeway, i can smell some smoke and the oil light starts flicking but then stops. again, the mechanic said it was all normal since the engine had just been rebuilt and oil was changed recently. i'm not smashing on the accelarator anymore because i really, really, need this car to run, but i know for a fact that if i do smash the gas pedal, the lifter will start ticking very loud again. :( any good 240 mechanics in phoenix?

+1 have you changed your oil? Mine starts to tick when oil is low or need oil change

That's normal for the single cam. Mine does it for a little under the first mile when I first start it up in the morning and occasionally after some abuse. It's nothing to be worried about really.

If you put in a quart of lubricant stuff, it will go away for a while, but may come back.

My motor has 230K and I beat on it daily... really don't worry about it.
