:bowrofl:hey everyone ive spent so much time/headache on this swap already ive done everything i could so first time i got my motor i put it in and harness and try to crank it but all i hear is a click so i ended up getting my wiring done by (wiring specialites) and i installed it but it still wont crank ive got a brand new OEM starter i sanded every part of the chassis/motor/tranny for ground and got new optima battery check all the plugs made sure their all tight but still no luck on even Turning over :duh: so here more information i turn the key to on i hear fuel for like 2-3 seconds and i hear some relays on the driver side and the 2 blue relay by the ECU so i try to crank it all i hear is a loud click on the starter it can't be the starter thats broken cause i took it off and had autozone and winchester to check it and they said its perfect but heres the weird thing i try to push start it around 4-5 mph and it starts up fine so please if anyone know what my problem is please tell me thanks :sadwavey:and one more question does the starter need a postive going to it? all i know is theres 2 things that goes to it ones a bolt on and the other is slide on and when i check their both grounds so please help me on that too thanks :bowrofl:

yes, positive battery power goes to the outer big post/terminal on the starter. the innter (closer to the block) big post is grounded from the starter being bolted to the transmission which is grounded by the transmission being bolted to the motor, which is grounded by a ground cable from the negative battery terminal to the tab on the intake manifold.
so now the starter has a ground and positive battery voltage running to the outer big post on the starter.
then last but not least you have the little tang (male spade terminal) on the starter solenoid.
this gets 12 volt power to the starter when the key is in the start position to engage the starter so it cranks the engine fast enough for the combustion process to begin and perpetuate the motor's operation
if your main positive cable is not getting power to the starter then that's your problem and you need to investigate WHY.
that's why your car is not starting.
all 3 of the following should have continuity with each other if everything is hooked up correctly
your positive battery terminal, the charge post on the back of the alternator, and the outer post on the starter.
your battery's job is just to activate the starter so it spins the flywheel so your car will start. so obviously your battery and starter should have a good connection.
your alternator's job is to take over once the car is started and provide everything in the car with power as well as charge back up the battery. therefore the battery should have a good connection with the alternator so it can get charged back up.
so technically all 3 things are connected to one another. therefore you should have continuity on all 3 spots with one another.

check that ur battery terminals are good and tight with good connection also. if the connection is alittle loose it will cause the same thing to happen. or just have someone with you all the time in order to push ya to start it. lol

garens your starter. Which OEM starter do you have? either your starter not getting enough volts or it doesnt have enough power to push that sexy motor over. I dont see many s14 sr20 motors out here in oahu... i wish there was.. lol
